The heritage core: lanterns, the river, tailors, and food on every corner. Lovely to walk at night. But it is busy, prices are higher, there is no beach, and the central streets get loud and packed by evening. Good for a couple on a short, walk-everywhere trip. Hard work with kids or a big group.
An Bang Beach
The cool beach. Cafes, beach clubs, a younger crowd, and a short ride to the old town. Great if you want sand plus a social scene. It has built up a lot, so it is livelier than its quiet neighbor.
Cua Dai Beach
